A STORYTELLING SPEAKER STORY
Creating healthier workplaces where people can perform at their best is good business. The Conference Board of Canada brought together 500 workplace leaders to share best ideas and practices in the three areas of Leadership, Wellness and Safety. I was asked to spread some story magic through the 2-day event and show attendees how stories can be a core part of a healthy culture.
I was able to inspire and show best practices using stories of leaders and workplaces ranging from Apple to Mary Kay. I also taught basic story skills that the audience could take back and put to work in their organizations.
Bryan Benjamin, VP of the Conference Board, had this to say after the highly successful event
WHY HIRE A STORYTELLING SPEAKER?
Why would you want a Storytelling Speaker to talk to your people at an event?
You can hire any athlete, celebrity, adventurer, YouTube millionaire or politician on the planet.
Why a storytelling speaker like me?
Here is why.
MOST BUSINESS COMMUNICATION IS UNCLEAR AND UNINSPIRING
If you ask any leader of any company I have ever worked with over the last 40 years, they will tell you that improving communication is one of their biggest challenges. They put out a new strategy – it doesn’t stick. They give a motivational speech – it doesn’t have enough impact. They try to get their leaders more engaged with the workforce – there is minimal engagement. They pay big bucks for an athlete guest speaker – there is no effect on performance.
Why? Because they are missing the crucial element of all good, sticky communication:
Is it a coincidence that every major religious book in the world is essentially a storybook? No.
The stories tell people how to behave. And people remember the stories.
We don’t remember opinions. We don’t remember facts. We don’t remember PowerPoint slides.
We sure remember great stories.
A LIBRARY OF STORY EXPERIENCES
That’s why my presentations are all built on stories. I have built an incredible library of about 100 inspiring video stories which I narrate live to create a unique theatrical experience. And it also works brilliantly in a virtual conference.
These stories are the bedrock of my presentations, each selected specifically for you, with the messages tailored for your audience and objectives.
I don’t just inspire your audience. I also show them how stories can be a powerful part of their communication repertoire, and can teach them how to craft and use them.
I call this Inspire & Equip.

My clients who have actively made stories part of their culture will tell you that it has changed their communication. Their Values are more present. Their leaders and teams are more engaged. Their salespeople are more effective. You can see it all in their performance.
